Job Summary
Childcare Attendants provide short-term care for children ages 6 months to 9 years at the Family FunPlex facility. Attendants are responsible for monitoring and interacting with the children as they play in the childcare room, checking the children in and out as directed, and the general cleanliness of the area.

Minimum Requirements
- One (1) year of caring for children in a public setting.
- One (1) year customer service experience.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Current certification in CPR/AED/First Aid or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
- None
- Knowledge of children’s games, activities, arts & crafts, etc.
- Computer skills, including the ability to utilize Microsoft Office programs (i.e. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) and learn and experiment with new software and systems.
- Interpersonal skills, including the ability to facilitate interaction, communication, and teamwork between others.
- Oral, written, and listening communication skills, including the ability to accurately interpret what others are saying and convey messages, information, concepts, and details accurately and clearly.
- Organizational skills, including the ability to set and meet goals and deadlines, manage appointments, create schedules, coordinate and facilitate meetings, and make decisions.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple concurrent and competing tasks and responsibilities, and adapt to changing priorities while maintaining personal effectiveness.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and reliable professional judgment, as well as collaboratively with a team to achieve desired results.
- Ability to maintain a strong work ethic, positive problem-solving attitude, and enthusiasm for the work performed.
- Knowledge of customer service principles and best practices, including customer needs assessments, meeting quality service standards, and evaluating customer satisfaction.
- Knowledge of incident response and handling methodologies.
- Customer service skills, including the ability to actively listen, address customer needs, defuse tense situations, and maintain an open, flexible, and friendly demeanor.
- Ability to deliver a high level of commitment to customer service.
- Cares for and monitors children as they free play in the Family FunPlex childcare room and at the adjacent outdoor playground.
- Provides a safe and fun environment in which children and their parents/guardians feel comfortable.
- Leads and facilitates a variety of children’s games and activities.
- Develops and fosters positive relations with members and guests utilizing the childcare service.
- Cleans, disinfects, and organizes the childcare area.
- Frequent interruptions and heavy public contact.
- Required to work variable hours including some mornings, afternoons, early evenings, and on weekends when the childcare service is offered.
- Work will be performed primarily indoors but may be performed outdoors on and around a playground.
- May be exposed to loud noises, bodily fluids, cleaning solutions, dust, and fumes.
- Vision to perform physical activities, read computer screens and keyboards, as well as reference books and other written documents.
- Manual dexterity to complete daily work such as operate computer keyboards, iPads, other office equipment, and completing paperwork.
- Strength and stamina to stand, sit, walk, stretch, lift, bend, and carry up to 50 lbs.
