Position is remote but is expected to be in our Knoxville, TN office on a regular basis (up to 25% travel). Required Skills:

• Deep cyber security expertise to work with customers and partners to drive a differentiated and high value product roadmap and long-term vision
• Expert solution architect who can decompose complex business problems into phased technical solutions that can be projectized and communicated to C Level customers, partners, and leadership
• Time management and organizational skills balancing competing priorities and allocating R&D resources on the most urgent and strategic work
• Strong process orientation to build repeatable and effective processes that scale the R&D organization over time as the business grows
• Strong technical hiring manager to build the bench of product and engineering expertise necessary to ensure customer success
• Experience working with channel partners to enable scalable solutions and ecosystems around the RegScale product
• Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills for interacting with C Level customers, speaking at conferences, and working with marketing on engaging product content
• Experience with Agile Project Management, Scrum processes, and operating in a geographically distributed project environment

Activities:

• Serve on the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to help set company goals, priorities, and strategic direction for the business
• Update the Board of Directors on R&D goals, progress, and strategic direction
• Support Go To Market (GTM) team for product demos, roadmap prioritization, and engagement with engineering leadership in key customer accounts
• Work with customers to understand their business needs and develop innovative solutions that drive increased value while maintaining the RegScale Product Roadmap
• Work with the RegScale Product Manager to prioritize work, assign tickets, and ensure on-time delivery against customer and roadmap date commitments
• Architect innovative solutions to customer business problems that increase the value and differentiation of the RegScale platform while driving a culture of engineering excellence
• Develop and manage the R&D budget, staffing, office space, and related tools and resources supporting product development
• Develop strategic partnerships and technology alliances that support our GTM motions
• Working with Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Sales to prioritize work between roadmap development, minor feature requests, and bug tickets
• Accountable for ensuring development and maintenance of R&D processes, procedures, and internal documentation in the RegScale wiki
• Provide pre-sales support to help scope projects, develop requirements, and establish overall Solution Architectures for new customers
• Develop, teach, and mentor technical staff
  
  

Education/Training, Qualifications, and Certification:

• Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years experience, or
• Minimum of Master's Degree and 5 years experience
• Strong written and verbal communication skills while delivering exceptional customer service
• Ideal candidate will have previous cyber startup experience with successful exits
• Scrum or Project Management certifications are strongly desired
• Progressive management experience in a technical organization
• Prior working experience building or managing a Research and Development (R&D) organization is required
• Must be a US Citizen and capable of passing a background check and random periodic drug testing
• Must be willing to travel as needed to meet customer demands (up to 25%)
