ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintain Stephens aircraft to airworthiness standards set by the FAA.
- Supervise Maintenance personnel.
- Direct the scheduling and timely completion of major inspections, repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance of Stephens aircraft and ensure the quality of work is to the standards of the current FAR’s.
- Oversee the computer tracking system of all aircraft maintenance, documentation and records as required by FARs, manufacturers and company policy.
- Review and approve all maintenance department related invoices.
- Furnish all necessary technical data to the required personnel and ensure the data is current.
- Work within Stephens Flight Operation to maintain a culture of safety with efficient procedures that support customer service.
- Coordinate activities of the maintenance department with flight operations.
- Assist the Direct of Aviation with the development of department policies to include but not limited to, preparation of short and long-range plans, annual operating budget, and assessment of aircraft cost studies, establishment of salary structures, and the establishment of minimum employment qualifications.
- Ensure all Maintenance department personnel are properly trained for their position in both technical and no-technical duties.
- Assist in hiring, disciplinary actions and termination of department staff.
- Establish maintenance department safety rules and procedures.
- Oversee parts inventory.
- Ensure that department personnel are thoroughly familiar with company policies, appropriate FARs, pertinent manuals, practices and publications.
- Must be able to travel on an as needed basis and short notice for the purpose of aircraft maintenance and training.
- Perform other job duties as required by management.
- This position has supervisory responsibilities over the Aircraft Maintenance department.
- Associate’s degree in a related field.
- 10+ years of FAA-certified aviation maintenance technician experience within the corporate aviation field.
- Prior supervisory experience required.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Properly licensed by FAA to perform airframe and powerplant maintenance.
- Must be able to pass Transportation Security Administration (TSA) test to acquire airport security badge.
