The Caseworker provides trauma-informed services to refugees and other ORR qualified immigrants to support a positive integration experience and the achievement of client self-sufficiency. The Caseworker works closely with clients, colleagues, and external parties to develop service and/or self-sufficiency plans to meet individual client needs and preferences utilizing a broad range of financial, medical, social, vocational, and other services and resources in accordance with client eligibility and program requirements.

The Caseworker provides trauma-informed services to refugees and other ORR qualified immigrants to support a positive integration experience and the achievement of client self-sufficiency. The Caseworker works closely with clients, colleagues, and external parties to develop service and/or self-sufficiency plans to meet individual client needs and preferences utilizing a broad range of financial, medical, social, vocational, and other services and resources in accordance with client eligibility and program requirements.
Major Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Conduct intake services with clients to assess needs. Develop self-sufficiency plans and timelines in partnership with each client. Provide individualized support through direct services, referrals, and advocacy.
- Receive referrals for case management for ORR-eligible and TANF-eligible clients and participate in any needed case conference meetings to assure continuity of care.
- Assess client needs, creates Family Self-Sufficiency Plans (FSSPs) and Individual Employability Plans (IEPs), focusing on removing employment barriers, stabilizing, and obtaining and retaining employment.
- Assess and monitor client progress to support their attainment of established goals, address challenges, and to ensure that available resources are utilized. Follow up with any referrals made to other programs.
- Detail each client interaction in accordance with program requirements. Input client information in database(s) and assist with tracking and reporting as needed.
- Collaborate effectively with coworkers and partner organizations. Build and maintain relationships with area service providers for the benefit of clients.
- Use personal, insured vehicle and/or public transportation (where available) to travel and transport clients and materials as needed throughout the service delivery area.
- May train and lead the activities of volunteers and interns.
- Conduct outreach to case management staff, refugee-serving agencies, ethnic community-based organizations, and others to inform service providers and refugees of programs and services.
- Complete eligibility screenings for all referral and enrollment paperwork for all eligible Program participants.
- Provide comprehensive case management services, including assisting with benefits applications as appropriate.
- Guide/assist participants to establish contact and receive support services in the community based on their service plan.
- Ensure all services are linguistically appropriate and help advocate with mainstream service providers for linguistically appropriate services.
- Complete case notes in a detailed and timely fashion.
- Ensure all family data is entered into data management system in a timely manner.
- Assist with the preparation of donor funding reports and new funding proposals.
- Participate in all program meetings, staff development activities, and fully engages as a member of the team.
- Follow all IRC policies, procedures and protocols including adherence to the IRC Way and Child Safeguarding.
- Other related duties as assigned.

Education
Job Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree Social Work or similar field strongly preferred; comparable related work experience may be substituted.
- 2+ years of case management experience in a social services environment.
- Experience working with vulnerable or under served populations preferred
- Computer proficiency with an emphasis on Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook).
- Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented
- Public Speaking and/or presentation experience preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate and work as a team member with collaborative partners, the community, and clients in a cross-cultural, multi-disciplinary environment.
- Ability and willingness to drive 15 passenger van.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
- Problem solver capable of working well independently and as a part of a team.
- Proficiency in written and spoken English, bilingual ability preferred in Spanish, Dari, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, Arabic, French or other refugee/immigrant language used in Arizona. Cross-cultural understanding and strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, active insurance policy, access to reliable transportation and the ability to travel regularly throughout the service delivery area.
- In accordance with Arizona State Law, must possess or be eligible to receive a fingerprint clearance card.
- A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.
- May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
- Must be able to lift 35 to 50 pounds (furniture, household supplies, and food boxes).
