Position Summary
The Case Aide in the Enhanced Family Foster Care (EFFC) program plays a key support role within a team prepared to respond to a wide range of child welfare situations—from short-term placements supporting family reunification to specialized care for children with chronic medical, developmental, or trauma-related needs. The Case Aide helps ensure continuity of care by supervising and documenting family visits, assisting with service referrals, escorting children and parents to appointments, maintaining case files, and participating in case reviews. This position is essential in providing consistent, compassionate, and organized support to children and families in care. This position reports to the designated Social Work Supervisor in the EFFC program.
Essential Duties
Children’s Aid will conduct a prompt and thorough investigation of all allegations of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, or any violation of the Equal Employment Opportunity Policy in a confidential manner and will take appropriate corrective action, if and where warranted. Children’s Aid prohibits retaliation against employees who provide information about, complain about, or assist in the investigation of any complaint of discrimination or violation of the Equal Employment Opportunity Policy.
The incumbent is expected to work a schedule, whether in-person or hybrid, as determined by the department's needs to facilitate effective collaboration with the team. This flexibility is essential for maintaining seamless communication, fostering teamwork, and ensuring the smooth operation of the department's processes. The position's requirements are subject to periodic review and adjustment based on organizational needs and changes in work dynamics.

Essential Duties
- Understand and promote the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
- Work with a dynamic team of professionals in a progressive Enhanced Family Foster Care program.
- Supervise and document family visits.
- Assist in handling service referrals for children and families.
- Escort children and parents to appointments.
- Complete filing.
- Attend case reviews.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED minimum requirement—College degree preferred.
- Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
- Strong desire to work with children and families.
- Knowledge of the New York City child welfare system a plus.
- Excellent verbal, writing, and organizational skills.
- Flexibility and ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines; Flexible work schedule, as needed.
- Basic computer literacy.
