Founded in 2011, Lolli and Pops (www.lolliandpops.com) is a high-end purveyor of sweetness operating a chain of premium retail candy stores, branded chocolate and candy products. Inside our stores are unique sweets from all over the world, sourced from famed producers and local artisans. The concept has been proven nationally, with more than 60 Lolli and Pops brand locations across the country!

We are excited to announce we are hiring for a Buyer.

The Buyer is a vital role on the Merchandising team that develops and executes the assortment strategy for Packaged Goods at Lolli & Pops. This role leads the assortment planning, negotiating, and pricing for their category with P&L responsibility over Sales, Margin, and Inventory Turn. This omni-channel role will also have direct buying responsibility for Lolli&Pops.com. The Buyer reports to the VP Merchandising and the ideal candidate has over 5 years of merchandising/buying experience and thrives in a fast-paced and creative environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Develop & execute assortment strategy for Packaged Goods Division including International, Novelty, Beverage and other key categories
  • Source and select unique and compelling Retail and Online assortments
  • Identify confectionary market and social media trends and work swiftly to capitalize on opportunities and fill holes in the assortment
  • Cultivate strong relationships with vendor community, seek out new opportunities to expand our offering and vendor community
  • Negotiate costing and vendor support for marketing campaigns and in-store tasting & events
  • Analyze business trends and work with Planning partners to adjust buys accordingly
  • Partner with Supply Chain team on opening order decisions and vendor forecasts
  • Develop holiday range plans for seasonal offering
  • Ensure fully loaded costs and retail meet margin requirements while offering compelling retail value
  • Analyze and report on performance to forecast for all product launches, recommend necessary adjustments to ensure success
  • Identify risks and communicate appropriately to keep projects on track
  • Coordinate with Marketing and Operations teams on fixture & signage needs for proper merchandising

Requirements & Competencies

  • 5+ years experience working in a merchandising/buying office, candy or CPG experience a plus
  • Brick & Mortar experience
  • eCommerce experience, familiarity with Shopify Plus or similar ecommerce platform
  • Strategic agility
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Data driven
  • Dealing with ambiguity
  • Self-Starter, fast learner, go-getter
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • O rganized and detail oriented
  • Superior Excel skills
  • Proficient in PowerPoint and Google Suite
  • Bachelors Degree is a plus
