Overview
Under direct supervision, provides primary information systems support for Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A). Assists in the data extraction and cleaning of data from OCTA’s accounting, procurement and human resources systems, and the upload of this data into FP&A’s budget system and dashboards. Provides entry-level business intelligence skills in reporting and dashboard building. Maintains metadata in FP&A systems, synchronizing shared data with external systems.
This is a non-exempt position in Salary Grade 185: Min $38.71 – Mid $46.24 – Max $53.76 hourly. The starting salary will be within this range based on qualifications.

- Assists in maintaining metadata in FP&A's Financial System, keeps chart of accounts data in-synch with Accounting and maintains title/employee data is in-synch with Human Resources.
- Assists in supporting user security in Microsoft Power Apps and Qlik Sense, enforcing FP&A policies and communicating with users to ensure they know how to log-in and have access as needed.
- Participates in providing ad hoc data extractions as requested by FP&A analysts to support analysis.
- Assists in coordinating and prioritizing on-going development and implementation of database and software features and appropriate software conversions, including the training of employees on new programs.
- Analyzes accounting and/or financial issues.
- Plans and organizes projects and meets multiple deadlines. Communicates clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
- Exercises discretion in the use of confidential information.
- Assists in maintaining SQL Server and Essbase databases, performs daily, weekly, monthly, and annual data extraction, and the transformation from OCTA's Oracle and SQL Server databases into FP&A's databases, business intelligence applications and Essbase databases.
- Responds to requests and inquiries from system users and resolves problems. Assume responsibility for the data integrity and efficient operation of assigned applications.
- Performs analysis and assists with the design and testing of assigned programs.
- Assists in monitoring data integrity between FP&A's systems ensuring that control totals tie across systems, and that, as fiscal periods change, internal variables have been reset accordingly.
- Participates in creating and maintaining documentation of systems, standard operating procedures, and user instruction materials.
- Adapts to changing technologies and learns functionality of new equipment and systems.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with superiors, peers, and subordinates.
- Participates in providing technical support to special projects relating to the use of specific applications.
- Participates in user training in FP&A’s systems and dashboards; assists in the development of printed and video training materials.
