General Summary

The Business Systems Analyst will be part of the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) team in the Second Line of Defense. This is a technical role and will be responsible for maintaining all Bank’s Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) applications, with specific focus on ServiceNow’s risk management modules, such as Integrated Risk Management (IRM), Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM).

The role is a blend of risk requirements gathering, system configuration, integration, and report design for the Bank’s business and risk management professionals across the three lines of defense. Typical stakeholders may include Risk Management (e.g., Credit Risk, Operational Risk, etc.), Audit, Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, Model Risk Management, Information Technology, Information Security, Project Management, Third-Party Risk, and Physical Security.

Essential Functions

  • Support Bank’s GRC systems (such as Diligent One, ServiceNow, Power BI) including systems configuration and enhancement, administering user roles and permissions, ensuring data integrity, incident management, and change management.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in ServiceNow IRM, BCM and TPRM modules, providing development and support - including workflow customization, scripting, process automation, and systems integration.
  • Administer ServiceNow risk management modules, performing updates and maintenance tasks, while evaluating and implementing the latest enhancements and best practices to ensure continuous platform improvement.
  • Develop custom reports, forms, and dashboards within Diligent, ServiceNow, and Power BI.
  • Execute queries on application databases and Bank’s data warehouse and assist in preparing periodic or ad hoc reports for distribution to business units and senior management.
  • Serve as a liaison between business units and Enterprise Risk Management for GRC system enhancements.
  • Lead the collection and analysis of business requirements from stakeholders across various risk domains.
  • Develop detailed business requirement documents (BRDs), functional specifications, user stories, and use cases.
  • Create detailed procedures, processes, and workflow diagrams to ensure clarity and efficiency in system implementation and operation.
  • Create and maintain training materials and user guides and conduct training sessions to educate users on system functionalities and best practices.
  • Understand and enhance the process flows of the Bank’s transaction lifecycles across multiple business segments.
  • Responsible for business analysis across risk domains, collaborating with stakeholders to translate risk management requirements into function system specifications.

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or related field, preferred.
  • ServiceNow certification is a plus.

Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of technical and functional expertise in financial services, with a strong emphasis on vendor system implementation and configuration in banking environments.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in ServiceNow development, scripting, integration, architecture, and best practices. ServiceNow experience in systems implementation, configuration, customization, and reporting.
  • Experience designing and generating reports using reporting/query tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Business Objects.
  • Experience in maintaining large datasets and risk reporting.
  • Familiarity with risk management programs at banking or financial institutions is ideal, particularly in areas such as risk assessments, Risk Appetite and Reporting, and general risk management.
  • Previous experience in the financial services industry and/or risk management.
  • Knowledge of Python, REST APIs, and Informatica are a plus.

  • Proficient in business analysis methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Strong ability to translate business needs into technical requirements.
  • Ability to present complex information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences.
  • Familiarity with database concepts and SQL for data analysis.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite – Word, Excel, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams.

Other Details

$85K – $107K / year

Pay determined based on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location.

This position may be eligible for a discretionary bonus.
