POSITION SUMMARY: The Manager, Brand Development will support the strategy build-out, execution, and collaboration across the enterprise of Ulta Beauty’s Brand Building strategic initiative. This role will be instrumental in curating and fostering a brand building culture within our go-to-market teams, as well as the eco-system, processes, and KPI’s that will support this initiative. As a highly influential leader, this role will be responsible for aligning executive stakeholders on the Brand Building initiative, as well as building training, documentation and processes surrounding brand development.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Business Area Strategy:

  • Leads the development and execution of the Brand Development strategy, in partnership with Senior Director, Merchandising Strategic Platforms + Brand Development, managing through cross-functional collaboration, process and communication.
  • Manages strategy execution and provides input and direction to Merchant’s on initiative.
  • Participate in long-range merchandising and strategy development around all things Brand Development. Includes partnering with Merchants and MP&I on Ignite Brand placement, product innovation, marketing, supply chain, eventing, education and overall execution.
  • Drive analytics and 3-5 year strategy for Ignite Brand portfolio of brands.

Merchandising Strategy Development:

  • Responsible for managing the development of Ignite brands and their ecosystem - with the goal of successfully growing/scaling their businesses at Ulta Beauty
  • Support Ignite Brand Merchants with cross-category solutions
  • Apply critical thinking skills and tracking management to help lead growth for Ignite Brands

Standup with cross functional support Brand Building Ecosystem

  • Develop and source content to aid in educating merchants on how to grow at Ulta Beauty
  • Build playbook on key go-to-market levers
  • Strategic vendor management with key partner brands/council

Marketing, Education, Eventing, Stores and Finance:

  • Responsible for cross functional partnership around Build Brand initiatives
    • Strategy build out, governance, briefs and support documentation supporting this effort
  • Work directly with the DMM/VPs to update on platform KPIs, progress and ecosystem
  • Oversee Strategy:
  • Key launch 360 marketing plans
  • Dotcom Brand, Store Strategy
  • Sampling, email and CRM Strategy, as needed
  • In-store Merchandising: Collaborate with buyers on securing and developing off-shelf placement

Analyze:

  • Proactively assess and monitor Ignite Brand business, inventory and investments as well as evaluate competitive landscape and marketplace to determine potential opportunities and develop strategies to address.

REQUIREMENTS FOR CONSIDERATION:

  • 8+ years of professional, relevant experience with deep category, product, trends and guest knowledge
  • 2+ years of buying experience with proven examples of developing brand strategies, assortments and go-to-market plans
  • Strong established cross-functional expertise with Ulta Beauty
  • High emotional intelligence/IQ and strong relationship management skills
  • High Energy/Positive Team Member, Collaborator and Contributor
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and creative problem solver
  • Capability to lead brand meetings and presentations
  • Demonstrates enterprise thinking
  • Professionalism and confidentiality required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Knowledge of SAP and SAP Hana a plus
  • Strong organizational skills required
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
  • Some travel required

The pay range for this position is $88,200.00 - $116,900.00 / Year with the opportunity for eligible associates to earn additional compensation pursuant to the Company’s bonus plan. Exact pay will be based on factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, level, shift, geographic location, and business and organizational needs. Full-time positions are eligible for paid time off, health, dental, vision, life and disability benefits. Part-time positions are eligible for dental, vision, life, and disability benefits.
