Automotive Service Manager

Empire Automotive Group is seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead and enhance our growing service department at Chevrolet Hicksville in Nassau County, New York. This pivotal role requires a dynamic leader who can drive operational efficiency, foster a positive and goal-oriented team environment, and elevate customer service standards.

The ideal candidate will oversee a team of service advisors and technicians, guiding them toward excellence in customer care and support. Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and coordinate operations within a domestic union shop and non-union support environment, ensuring compliance with manufacturer and municipal standards while maintaining proper work specifications.
  • Prioritize customer satisfaction by upholding service levels that meet the expectations of upper management and manufacturer requirements.
  • Leverage advertising and marketing strategies to attract a steady workflow and maintain business growth.
  • Establish clear objectives for advisors and technicians to facilitate effective communication with customers.
  • Ensure efficient work dispatching to maximize technician productivity for both customer vehicles and internal vehicle preparation.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive training schedules for technicians, advisors, and support personnel to enhance skills and service quality.
  • Supervise and lead a team with constructive feedback, fostering high performance, morale, and a positive workplace culture rooted in dealer integrity.
  • Train staff to provide a welcoming experience, greeting every customer with professionalism and attentive service.
  • Oversee monthly business performance and present strategic goals to upper management.
  • Manage advisors to consistently promote and sell services while maintaining honesty and integrity in customer interactions.
  • Utilize all communication channels professionally to address and resolve customer concerns promptly and thoroughly.
  • Act as a brand ambassador by embodying the organization’s values, fostering lasting customer relationships, and ensuring a commitment to excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

  • At least three years of experience managing a union shop in a franchised automotive dealership.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication abilities.
  • Ability to ensure timely and compliant submission of required documents and approval requests to the manufacturer.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Reynolds & Reynolds, Ignite, and Microsoft Office.

  • Proven ability to create and maintain excellent customer satisfaction.
  • Experience providing outstanding customer service by showcasing expertise, fostering trust, and growing relationships.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor, reliable in business attire.
