Summary

Responsible for design and execution of tests with the depth and rigor necessary for new technology products in the financial services industry. Architects efficient QA business process to expedite effective QA. Leads development for designing tests and test coverage. Consistently maintains a high standard of practice for designing, documenting, and executing test plans. Manages releases independently. Leads fellow QA Engineers to follow best practices. Ensures issues are communicated and appropriately documented and escalated.

Responsibilities

  • Architect efficient QA business processes to expedite effective Quality Assurance.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Lead development designing tests and test coverage.
  • Understand, utilize and implement QA best practices.
  • Effective test planning.
  • Planning of regression and automation.
  • Willingness to adapt and learn legacy systems.
  • Investigate and collect data for customer reported incidents.
  • Collaborate with customer service and development to reach resolution of product issues impacting customers.
  • Following QA convention for communication channels
  • Provide timely feedback and results.
  • Close loops: responsible for coordinating complex workflows (e.g. tracking down approval for releases).
  • Build simple scripts.
  • Use basic Linux commands.

Required Education And Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in software QA
  • Knowledge on AWS or other Cloud services
  • Basic knowledge on Structured Query Language
  • Preference of experience in testing API’s with coverage in the following areas:
    • Testing
    • Load testing
    • Integration of tools automation reporting to test case management.
  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics or similar.
  • Quality Assurance certification (e.g. CSTE Certification from QAI) preferred

Competencies, Knowledge And Skills

  • Demonstrated knowledge of and expertise with test case management tools including TestRails, Xray, or Zephyr.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and expertise using automation tools including Java, Selenium Web driver, BDD Cucumber, Rest Assured, Gherkin, BrowserStack, Maven, Jenkins, Intellij, AWS EC2 and Jmeter.
  • Knowledge of and experience testing web-based applications using technologies that include HTML, XML, CSS, etc.
  • Demonstrated expertise with scripting and programming languages including Java, Python and Perl to support test case development, test framework and tool configuration and support.
  • Experience in using an IDE such as Eclipse to compile and run applications.
  • Experience working in Linux environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Team leadership skills.

Physical Requirements

  • Frequently required to sit and stand.
  • Required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools or controls.
  • Visual acuity and manual dexterity required to code using software and a laptop computer.
