Associate Category Manager, Tasty Bite

The Associate Category Manager is responsible for managing category leadership solutions and insight for the Tasty Bite Organization. This role is expected to provide fact and insight-based solutions that drive growth for category, customer, and company, while securing distribution and merchandising solutions for product launch. This position offers a great opportunity for a skilled analyst to apply their data manipulation and data visualization expertise while developing business-facing skills, collaborating with our sales leadership teams. This role will work closely with internal partners, particularly dealing with ambiguity and demonstrating an action-oriented approach with a sense of urgency.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• 1-3 years of experience in Sales, Category Management, or Shopper Insights within CPG and/or retail
• 1 year of business analytics experience
• Experience working with syndicated data software (i.e., IRI or Nielsen)
• Experience working with Microsoft Suite (Excel & PowerPoint)
• Strong written/verbal communication, presentation, and collaboration skills
• Ability to manage cross functional projects, conflicting priorities, & meet deadlines
• Ability to travel of 5% of the time
  
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience in Sales, Category Management, or Shopper Insights
• Experience working in Assortment Planning or Space Management Software (i.e. Apollo, Intercept, etc.)
• Experience with promotional, non-promotional, & pricing strategy development
• Knowledge of Shopper Insights & Strategy
• Experience in project development and partnering with large strategic retail customers
• Advanced data mining experience (shopper loyalty card & household panel data)
  
  

What would be your key responsibilities?

• Develop Mars Tasty Bite portfolio data and insights for customers and internal partners.
• Builds and reproduces periodic dashboards and ad-hoc reporting for sales leadership focusing on driving insights on total category.
• Develop category review presentations with item and shelving recommendations, incorporating $ opportunity estimates for top customers, as needed for Line Review meetings.
• Track retail market sales performance across various metrics ($, volume, price, share) and provide insight & recommendations where opportunity exists and before risks materialize.
• Build collaborative, cross functional relationships with Sales and Marketing to ensure key initiatives across roles are aligned, streamlined and executed.
• Engage with multiple data sources to identify insights for marketing strategies.

Total rewards at Mars includes base pay, competitive benefits, and annual bonus (if position is eligible). The full-time pay range for this role is:

USD 85,028.00 - USD 127,542.00
