Assistant Wellness Director – Summary Of Responsibilities
The Assistant Wellness Director works under the supervision of the Wellness Director to support the oversight and delivery of high-quality, compassionate care to residents. This role helps ensure compliance with state and federal regulations through daily rounding, staff supervision, training, and continuous quality improvement efforts.
Key responsibilities include monitoring care across all shifts, supporting resident assessments, participating in survey preparation and response, maintaining infection control protocols, and assisting with department budgeting. The Assistant Wellness Director also plays a critical role in staff onboarding, education, performance management, and employee relations.
This position collaborates with residents, families, physicians, and external agencies to promote a safe, supportive, and person-centered care environment. They also serve as acting Wellness Director in their absence and ensure 24/7 nursing leadership coverage.
