Association C.P.R. /A.E.D. and W.S.I. SUMMARY The City of Chicopee\'s

Department of Public Works / Recreation Division is hiring Assistant

Recreation Leaders which are integral to the seasonal recreational

offerings of the department and may be assigned to work at various City

parks and pools. Duties at the pool include collection of monies and

checking of pool badges. Duties at the park include supervision and

interaction with children in the park and water facilities, including

playing games and performing arts and crafts. Individuals are also

responsible for general maintenance of the pool or park. Individuals may

also assist with various recreational programs and events including

learn to swim, fireworks, and movie nights. ESSENTIAL DUTIES INCLUDE

Maintains the park, comfort station, and/or bathhouse facilities for

appearance and safety of visitors. Enforces all rules and regulations

regarding staff and patrons. Maintains up-to-date and organized records

of attendance and participation. Responds to patrons\' questions and

concerns and addresses issues with supervisor. Maintains all materials

and equipment in an orderly fashion for use. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND

RESPONSIBILITES (PARK): Builds relationships with park visitors through

active engagement using sport, activities, arts and crafts, and social

interactions. Assists with various recreational programs and events in

the park. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (POOL): Responsible for

always supervising the bathhouse unless helping with learn to swim

program or completing designated duties. Responsible for checking

patrons for their pool badge. Responsible for money collection and money

bag of daily paying patrons. Enforces rule: All patrons under 42\" do

not enter the main pool. Follows weekly bathhouse schedule for pools.

QUALIFICATIONS American Red Cross Adult/Pediatric First Aid

C.P.R./A.E.D., American Red Cross Adult/Pediatric C.P.R./AE.D., American

Red Cross Adult/Pediatric First Aid, American Heart Association Basic

First. Aid, American Heart Association C.P.R. /A.E.D. and W.S.I. -

Required Massachusetts Class D Driver?s License. - Preferred (3) Months

experience in maintenance and customer service. - Preferred High School

diploma or general education degree (GED). - Preferred Experience in

handling of money.
