As an essential business, Ferrellgas focuses on safely supplying dependable, affordable propane to homes and businesses throughout the United States. As part of our Assistant General Manager Development Program (AGMDP), you’ll gain the essential skills you need to lead and develop an operations team. This program requires a minimum of 3 years of management experience and a willingness to relocate is required.

Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
- Lead daily operations while focusing on safety, compliance, and quality service.
- Complete hands-on learning experiences in logistics, service, and leadership.
- Master “Propane 101” to build foundational knowledge of propane operations and personnel.
- Partner with your GM to drive service excellence and operational success.
- Learn to budget, analyze KPIs, and implement process improvements that matter.
- Prepare to run your own Service Center by the end of your program.
- Hire, develop, and lead frontline teams with purpose and positivity.
- Champion a safety-first, customer-focused culture that motivates and retains talent.
- Work with mentors and peers to build a network of future leaders.
- Rotate through four phases: Observe, Practice, Audit, and Apply—giving you the skills you need to manage a business.
- Receive real-time feedback and coaching from Region Managers and GMs.
- Upon successful completion of the program, you’ll have the opportunity to develop into future leaders within the company.
- Ability to travel and a willingness to relocate for advancement opportunities
- Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Management, or a related field (preferred) or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years of experience in a managerial role.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of propane industry regulations and safety protocols preferred.
- Proficiency in business management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to travel to multiple Service Centers within the designated region.
- Must be a Citizen or National of the United States, a lawful, permanent resident, or have authorization to work in the United States.
