Position Summary
The Design Associate assists with the design of all new company home plans. The position will oversee the prototyping, initial construction documents creation, and elevation renderings.

The Design Associate assists with the design of all new company home plans. The position will oversee the prototyping, initial construction documents creation, and elevation renderings.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Assists the design manager with creating new home layouts, elevations, and renderings
- Collaborates with the design manager to prepare construction documents accurately and quickly
- Conducts site visits on protypes during construction, making notes for efficiency and layout improvements
- Researches design trends and new building products for use in Schuber Mitchell homes
- Works with truss, millwork, and MEP companies in the creation of efficient and well thought out layouts
- Assists in preconstruction meetings and plan audit reviews
- Assists and supports builders and sales out in the field
- Ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Architectural Design or five (5) years experience designing for construction
- Two (2) years’ experience working with Revit required
- Experience in the construction field preferred
- Working knowledge of Auto CAD and familiarity with Photoshop/InDesign applications
- Proficient in the use of Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders
- Superior organizational, time management, and analytical skills
- Works in a temperature-controlled office environment, with low noise levels
- Prolonged periods of sitting required
- Occasionally required to walk, stand, climb, lift, pull, and push objects weighing up to 15 pounds
