The primary purpose of this role is to perform mathematical and statistical analysis or model building as appropriate. This includes following analytical best practices, analyzing and reporting accurate results, and identifying meaningful insights that directly support decision making. This role provides assistance in supporting one functional area of the business in partnership with other team members.
At times, this role may work directly with the business function, but the majority of time is spent working with internal team members to identify and understand business needs.
With a focus specifically on Digital Analytics Implementation, this role assists with providing data capture capabilities to support digital analytics initiatives. This role helps translate business needs to effective digital analytics tagging specifications that provide metrics for analytic solutions across various digital channels. These tagging specifications ensure that data can be translated to tangible results for Lowe's and Lowe's Digital.
To be successful, the individual in this role must have technical expertise in programs such as SQL or Python, know how to query data, and have the ability to use operational and customer analytical data, merge data sets from different systems, summarize and visualize findings using visualization tools (e.g., MicroStrategy VI) to provide actionable insights to business partners.

What You Will Do
- Utilizes a depth of knowledge of how to best leverage disparate data sources, relevant external data and strong domain expertise, in order to deliver on a need of the business
- Provides technical skills to analytics projects, performing more basic project analysis and data modeling, ultimately ensuring that the final deliverable is high-quality and provides impactful insights
- With oversight from manager, translates a business question into an analytical model that can be utilized and executed by the business
- Assists more senior level Analytics professionals in more complex modeling and analytical projects to ensure their completion within allotted timeline and budget
- Performs operational or customer behavior modeling and analysis in order to provide quality insights
- Assists one or more areas of retail operations/functions in providing analytical support and actionable insights
- Tracks measures of success and develops dashboard or reports that measure operational and customer metrics for one or more areas of retail operations
- Analyzes business performance and supports test and learn efforts for key functional areas
- Assists with ad-hoc analytical requests, seeing them to completion
- Helps with identifying innovative ways for measuring and improving customer engagement or business operations
- Supports the development of tactical plans aligned with business strategy in order to bring the vision into realization
- Assists functional area(s) in reaching their goals via timely and insightful analyses
- Keeps pace with change and maintains a competitive advantage within the marketplace by seeking out and learning changes in the field
- Responsible for working across peers in the analytics COE and cross-functional business partners to accomplish tasks
- Works with more senior level analysts to translate project requirements into analytical problem(s), validating understanding of requirements with manager or more senior level analysts
- Provides input for the development of project plans, helping to ensure a clear understanding of project requirements and timeline
- Works with more senior level analysts to identify appropriate sources and gather information/data, using known tools, techniques, methods and models to ensure an accurate and concise output summarizing findings
- Provides input into final insights from the data analysis
- Maintains updated knowledge of evolving technology and methods that can be used for effective data analysis
- Provides input into the framework for measuring impact of the data analytics function
- Digital Analytics Implementation Responsibilities
- Implements basic analytic solutions, often with input and direction from other, more senior level team members
- Assists with translating business needs into digital tagging specifications so that extracted data can allow for impactful insights used to inform effective business decisions for various functions at Lowe's
- Helps determine the most effective and time and cost-efficient methods for capturing data elements to be utilized in web development
- Helps develop analytics tagging specifications customized for digital content and implements those solutions across multiple digital channels
- Assists with developing digital tagging solutions that measure financial results, customer satisfaction, and engagement metrics
- Participates in the process of testing and deploying new tracking solutions and monitoring existing integrations
- Contributes to key activities of implementation projects (including project discovery, coordination and implementation activities), ensuring that they are executed on time and within budget
- Assists with the auditing of digital tags and publishing of results to ensure that digital tag requests for both internal and external clients are executed accurately and efficiently, maintaining data integrity
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge on industry trends, emerging technologies, and new methodologies for utilization in finding innovative ways to perform data capture and derive valuable insights for the Lowe's organization
- Supports data collection projects, taking direction from more senior level consultants and collaborating across functions in Lowe's and Lowe's Digital
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Data or Information Sciences, or related field (or equivalent work experience in a related field) AND 1 year of related experience OR
- Master's Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Statistics, Data or Information Sciences, or related field ALSO
- Experience using basic analytical tools such as R, Python, SQL, SAS, Adobe, Alteryx, Knime, Aster
- Experience using visualization tools such as MicroStrategy VI, Power BI, Tableau
- Master's Degree in Business, Engineering, Statistics, Economics or related area
- Experience with business intelligence and reporting tools (e.g., MicroStrategy, Business Objects, Cognos, Adobe, TM1, Alteryx, Knime, SSIS, SQL, Svr) and Enterprise level databases (Hadoop, GCP, Azure, Oracle, Teradata, DB2)
- Experience working with big, unstructured data in a retail environment
- Experience with analytical tools like Python, Alteryx, Knime, SAS, R, etc.
- Experience with visualization tools like MicroStrategy VI, Power BI, SAS-VA, Tableau, D3, R-Shiny
- Programming experience using tools such as R, Python
- Data Science experience using tools such as ML, Text mining
- Knowledge of SQL
- Project management experience
- Experience in home improvement retail
- 1 year of experience in digital analytics implementation using enterprise grade tools such as Adobe Dynamic Tag Management (DTM), Google Tag Manager (GTM), Tealium, Ensighten, etc. (specific to the Digital Analytics Implementation role)
