Job Description

Ares Management is seeking an Analyst to join our dynamic and growing Ares Insurance Solutions (AIS) team in the Durham, North Carolina office. AIS is a dedicated, in-house team that provides solutions for Ares insurance efforts, including Aspida, across asset management, capital solutions and corporate development. The new Analyst will work collaboratively with AIS leadership, investment teams, corporate strategy, and other internal stakeholders to support Corporate Development activities and advancement of the comprehensive business plan.

Primary Functions And Responsibilities

The Analyst will provide support for the evaluation and analysis of potential new transactions and corporate development initiatives for Ares Insurance Solutions.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Analyze, conduct due diligence, and synthesize insurance/reinsurance transaction opportunities
  • Assist with developing transaction/investment committee memos for senior management, investors, and the Board of Directors
  • Maintain deal pipeline, due diligence workstream tracking, and key contacts across AIS and Aspida
  • Prepare and update market research, competitor intelligence and industry reports
  • Create key presentations for insurance company clients, rating agencies, and investors
  • Organize and respond to information requests from third party insurance company clients, financing sources and investors in conjunction with the broader team
  • Support transaction closings and integrations

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required.

Experience/Skills Required

  • 1+ years of relevant investment banking, consulting, corporate development, strategy, or finance experience with solid quantitative, financial and analytical skills.

Experience Preferred

  • 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred
  • Insurance or financial institutions knowledge/understanding preferred
  • DealCloud or similar M&A pipeline management / CRM software knowledge preferred

  • Self-starter with ability to create a path forward without perfect information.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication abilities; team player.
  • Advanced Excel modeling and PowerPoint skills.

Reporting Relationships

Compensation

The anticipated base salary range for this position is listed below. Total compensation may also include a discretionary performance-based bonus. Note, the range takes into account a broad spectrum of qualifications, including, but not limited to, years of relevant work experience, education, and other relevant qualifications specific to the role.

$75,000-90,000
