AI Solutions and Product Lead

MaineHealth

Date: 23 hours ago
City: Portland, ME
Contract type: Full time
Description

Position Overview

The AI Product Lead is a strategic builder and integrator charged with turning AI opportunities into real-world solutions that improve care, reduce costs, and advance MaineHealth’s mission. Reporting to the CSBTO and working in close partnership with the Chief Information & Digital Officer (CIDO) and the IT Innovation Initiatives team, the AI Product Lead assure alignment between clinical/operational needs and technical delivery.

This role ensures that AI initiatives are scoped, resourced, and adoption-ready, framing use cases, defining ROI, engaging clinical and functional experts, and stewarding pilots through scale. Importantly, the AI Product Lead works hand-in-hand with MaineHealth teams to identify opportunities that reflect system strategies and frontline priorities, while also bringing forward new ideas and emerging innovations that can be vetted for fit.

The AI Product Lead may serve as the initial “product owner” to accelerate innovation and de-risk early deployment, but long-term ownership will transition to the appropriate MaineHealth team. A critical success factor is planning for sustainability — identifying the right long-term organizational owner, ensuring a smooth handoff, and supporting them with the playbooks, governance, and infrastructure needed for adoption at scale. The AI Product Lead will play a central role in embedding AI responsibly and strategically across the health system, building capacity for MaineHealth to innovate safely and at pace
