Duties

What You'll Be Doing Day To Day

As an Administrative Officer , you will use your knowledge and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:

  • Provides administrative and tactical support for an assigned area to meet program or organizational goals and objectives in the areas of supply, HR, payroll, travel, and administrative support.
  • Advises program managers regarding budgetary concerns of an assigned unit such as shortfalls or unanticipated financial needs.
  • Performs special studies and analyzes or works in groups on administrative matters impacting the organization.
  • Presents oral and written information clearly and concisely to senior leadership. Provides administrative procedural information on inquiries and reports and recommends course of action in response.

Qualifications

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

For GS-07:Experience: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level in the Federal service performing the following:

  • Assisting a senior officer in the development of internal management process and procedures; and
  • Assisting in resolving problems of a procedural nature in administrative areas.
  • Assisting in variety of budget analyses and maintaining budget records

Education: Successful completion of at least one (1) full year (18 semester/27 quarter credits) of progressively higher-level graduate degree. You must include transcripts.

  • OR- Superior Academic Achievement (S.A.A.) based on one of the following: (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society member. Combination: Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. You must include transcripts.

For GS-9:Experience: You must have one-year of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-7 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position includes the following:

  • Providing staff assistance in the development of internal management process and procedures; and
  • Assisting in resolving problems of a procedural nature in administrative areas.
  • Prepares a variety of budget analyses and maintains budget records.

Successful completion of at least a Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years (36 semester/54 quarter credits) of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related. You must include transcripts.

Combination:
Successful completion of a combination of education and experience as described above. You must include transcripts.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to gain employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
