ADMINISTRATIVE LABORATORY ASSISTANT - FULL TIME

Description

• Provides general administrative support to the Laboratory Manager and Director of Laboratory Services and other laboratory staff members as deemed necessary
• Understands medical-legal implications and responsibilities related to maintaining confidential patient records
• Maintains an organized filing system with appropriate methods of tracking reports and correspondence.
• Handles billing and insurance issues related to testing performed at the reference labs. Payments are processed on time with appropriate records maintained.
• Conducts telephone conversations with professionalism and provides assistance to clinic staff that has inquiries regarding patients’ reports and billing.
• Accepts new assignments readily and is willing to take on additional duties as delegated by the Laboratory Manager and Director of Laboratory Services.
  
  

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent or higher to include functionality with a computer. A minimum of one year experience as a phlebotomist to include phlebotomy performed on all ages.

Preferred Education And Experience

A minimum of one year experience as a Laboratory Assistant to include experience with computer programs, i.e. Word, Excel. Experience in data entry, filing, answering telephones, faxing and other clerical duties as required.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

Basic knowledge of medical terminology and data entry skills. Ability to multi-task and handle several duties at once. Provide administrative assistance to the Laboratory Manager and Director of Laboratory Services in areas of correspondence, billing inquiries, and daily and monthly reports

CPR certification to be completed within 3 months of employment
