About the Job:
The Admin & Program Support Specialist position provides program, development, community, and facilities support for our organization at our Bend site. The goal of this position is to support the MountainStar team in providing great services that help strengthen families and keep children safe. This position reports to the Bend Program Manager and works in coordination with the development and leadership teams.

About MountainStar Family Relief Nursery
MountainStar Family Relief Nursery is a local non-profit that has been in Central Oregon for 20 plus years. We are a strength-based child abuse and neglect prevention program to support families with children ages 6 weeks through 5 years. We provide high quality trauma-informed care and services for children and families experiencing high stress. Services include a therapeutic classroom emphasizing social-emotional development, home visits, parenting classes and other full wrap around services.

About The Environment
Front Office Support: Welcome and support families, children, volunteers, donors, and community members who visit or call our Bend campus. Responsible for office management and coordination including but not limited to, answering phones, managing facility requests, managing office supplies, managing petty cash/debit card usage, and logistic support for meetings and training.
Program Support: Facilitate communications between program staff, client families and various community members. Provide support for the kitchen and classrooms in the mornings. Monitor diaper bank and food boxes. Manage swag orders across sites. Support Program Director and Manager in maintaining program calendar, CACFP food program, staff training and safety drills.
Fundraising Support: Receive and document in-kind donations, input incoming monetary donations and general information into our donor database, provide admin support for fundraising and community events, address and mail thank you letters, complete weekly deposit, and other similar projects as needed.
Requirements
Preferred Qualifications:
Starting wage of $19.57 per hour, with wage differential based on experience and bilingual, plus benefits. To protect confidentiality at MtStar there is a standard procedure requiring at least a 2-year separation between being a program participant and serving as a staff member or volunteer within the organization. All staff and volunteer roles are at the discretion of MountainStar. All positions at the MountainStar Family Relief Nursery are contingent upon the availability of funding.
Schedule Expectations
This is full time, 36 hours per week, Monday - Friday position. All positions at the MountainStar Family Relief Nursery are contingent upon the availability of funding.

Requirements

- High school diploma or GED
- Microsoft Office Suites proficiency
- Previous office experience
- Bilingual Spanish speaker
- Maintain a high level of client/employee confidentiality.
- Attention to detail in highly distracting environments.
- Ability to relate sensitively and non-judgmentally to young children and their families living in high-stress, chaotic situations who may be experiencing on-going crises and trauma.
- Work independently and as a team member.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills with ability to answer phone and direct calls.
- Work tactfully with a diverse population which may include special needs.
- Maintain a professional demeanor with clients, staff, and public.
- Ability to be dependable and flexible, with evidence of emotional maturity and stability.
- Sufficient maturity and good judgment to function in crisis situations.
- Consistent attendance is essential for both the smooth operation of our programs as well as fostering a sense of stability for the children and families we serve.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check through the Childcare Division.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation.
- Clean driving record to drive company vehicles.
- Physical stamina. Ability to lift and carry children, donations, and event materials up to 40 pounds.
- May work outdoors intermittently with exposure to typical Oregon weather. There may be frequent interruptions, working alone, working long hours. Working in a close environment with active children.
- Must be able to bend, kneel and stand for long lengths of time. In addition, staff must be able to get up and down from playing on the floor with children.
- Within 60 days of employment must be Pediatric CPR and First aid Certified, have a current food handlers’ card, and show proof of completing “Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect,” “Childcare Health & Safety,” “Safe Sleep,” and “Prevention is Better than Treatment” courses as required by Oregon Office of Childcare.
