Job Title: Accounting Assistant

Department: Accounting

Position Objective/Description

The Accounting Assistant is responsible for supporting the Controller and Accounting Department by performing a variety of clerical and accounting tasks. This includes invoice processing, enforcing deadlines, and assisting in the implementation of internal controls.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Assist the Controller with various accounting tasks
• Assist with processing invoices and track timely payment
• Investigate and resolve problems associated with processing of invoices
• Track and enforce accounting deadlines
• Help enforce internal controls and accounting policies
• Perform other duties as required to support the Accounting Department

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to sit for long periods and use a computer
• Regular use of hands for typing and handling office equipment
• Occasionally lifts or moves objects weighing up to 10 pounds
• Vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus
  
  

Education / Experience

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
• 2+ years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting
• Some college and construction industry experience preferred
  
  

Work Environment

Work is predominantly indoors within a usually quiet to moderately noisy environment. Considerable time is spent working/sitting in front of a computer. Regular business hours apply, though overtime may be necessary to meet project deadlines.
