Utah Housing Corporation, located in West Valley City, Utah, is seeking a detail-oriented full-time Accountant to join our Financial Services team and help ensure the financial integrity of our organization.
Working under the direction of the Financial Services leadership team, this position assists with routine accounting functions of the Corporation and plays an important role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial systems. The Accountant prepares and reconciles accounting reports, develops and interprets financial statements, and presents or explains work during audits or other reviews. This position requires a thorough knowledge of accounting principles, as well as the ability to navigate and utilize computerized finance and banking systems with a high degree of skill and accuracy.
In this role, the Accountant will manage accounting processes such as preparing journal entries, reviewing and reconciling financial transactions, processing accounts payable, and ensuring timely and accurate payments and transfers. The position also supports audit preparation, monthly and quarterly general ledger entries, reconciliations with the MSP servicing system, and the review of financial issues within the unit. The work involves analyzing information from a variety of sources, identifying patterns or trends, and providing accurate reporting that supports decision-making and compliance with policies, procedures, and generally accepted accounting principles.
Candidates must hold a bachelor's degree in accounting and have at least two years of full-time paid professional accounting experience. Successful applicants will demonstrate a strong understanding of accounting theory and practice, the ability to work with spreadsheets and banking functions, and the capability to manage multiple deadlines while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
