The Houston Dynamo Football Club (HDFC) is a multi-faceted organization dedicated to inspiring and supporting soccer participation and growth in Houston, TX and beyond. The Club’s brands include men's and women's professional teams - the Houston Dynamo (MLS) and Houston Dash (NWSL), a development academy, Houston Dynamo Dash Charities, as well as Shell Energy Stadium and Houston Sports Park.

The Club has a rich history, including MLS Cup titles (2006, 2007) and in-season tournament championships for both the Dynamo (2018 and 2023) and Dash (2020) and is focused on building toward the next championships, inspiring and uniting the city of Houston through the sport of soccer and community outreach, and creating the most inclusive sporting experience and diverse fan base in the city and state.

Position Overview

Houston Dynamo FC is seeking an exceptional candidate for the Academy Administrator position. This person will play a leading role in the daily operations of our professional academy. This individual is responsible for the planning, coordination, and execution of all logistical and operational functions. Working closely with the Academy General Manager, coaches, and support staff, the Academy Administrator ensures that all budget, registration, team travel and equipment processes are organized strategically and executed seamlessly. This role requires excellent communication, systematic thinking, growth mindset and a passion for player development in professional soccer.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Forecast and track operational expenses, providing regular budget reports to the Academy General Manager.
  • Organize all documentation for the academy players and staff, including league registration, ITCs, handbooks, medical records, travel documentation, SafeSport certification, etc.
  • Communicate with parents and players regarding schedules and events, ensuring clear and timely distribution.
  • Coordinate facility usage with HSP staff to ensure all training sessions, meetings and matches are scheduled.
  • Support equipment and apparel inventory management process, including ordering through Adidas, distribution to staff and players, maintenance of equipment, facilitating laundry of apparel, and travel need.
  • Manage all team travel arrangements, including transportation, accommodations, meals, and itineraries.
  • Maintain adherence to all league, federation, and club policies, including health and safety protocols.
  • Conduct regular facility and equipment checks to ensure a safe and secure environment for players and staff.
  • Support academy social media efforts and coordination with PR and communications team.
  • Coordinate with educational and wellness staff to ensure players receive holistic support.

Qualification Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sports Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably within MLS or professional sports environment.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Familiarity with academy soccer operations in a professional club setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders, including players, coaches, and parents.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, scheduling software, and database management.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, and travel as needed with teams.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) – preferred.
