Licensed USCG Assistant Engineer, tasked with operating and maintaining safe deck operations under the direction of the captain or mates.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

The position requires an Able-Bodied Seaman MMC with an Unlimited endorsement, and responsibilities include maintenance, cleaning, and painting of deck equipment, handling lines, helping provide safe embarking/disembarking and assisting engine room personnel as necessary. All A.B.s will work with a team of a very experienced and professional captain, 2 mates, a dragtender, and a bosun mate. Tours are 28 days on, with 2 paid travel days and 26 days off.

• Reasoning Ability: ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Physical Presence: Regular and predictable physical presence on the ship is an essential qualification for this position due to the importance of the team-related aspects of the essential duties, the aggressive timeframes under which the employee will operate, and the need for face-to-face interaction with manager and crew.
• Ability to travel for 28-day tours, with 2 paid travel days.
• SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:**This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
