O’Connell Electric Company is seeking a talented and detail-oriented 3D Animation and Graphic Designer to support our field operations teams. This role focuses on creating high-quality digital assets, animations, and visual simulations that enhance learning and safety for field personnel in the commercial electrical trade.
The ideal candidate will have experience with 3D modeling software and Adobe Creative Cloud tools, and a desire to translate complex technical concepts into engaging visual content. This role will involve hands-on applications with cameras and scanning equipment at times and will also require use of Adobe Creative Cloud and 3D modeling software.
Travel will be required to various job sites as needed throughout NY State.

The minimum and maximum annual salary that O’Connell Electric Company, Inc. believes in good faith to be accurate for this position at the time of this posting is between $60,500 to $65,000 annually.

General Responsibilities
3D Modeling and Animation
- Develop realistic 3D models and animations using software such as Blender, Maya, or equivalent.
- Create simulations of electrical equipment, systems, and procedures to support hands-on training in a safe, controlled environment.
- Design visualizations of electrical infrastructure, including tools, components, and job site environments.
- Build animated scenarios to demonstrate safety protocols, emergency procedures, and job site workflows.
- Use Adobe Creative Cloud applications (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.) to design visual aids, diagrams, and illustrations for training modules.
- Support the development of instructional materials, including manuals, presentations, infographics, and e-learning content.
- Assist in creating visual documentation of field processes and equipment setups.
- Operate cameras and scanning equipment to capture real-world environments and equipment for use in 3D modeling and animation.
- Travel to job sites to gather reference materials and collaborate with field teams.
- Attend training sessions to document instruction: capture audio, video, and images
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to produce accurate and effective visual content.
- Contribute ideas to improve visual storytelling and learner engagement.
- Collaborate with marketing department by sharing assets and support the creation of engaging animations and graphics for marketing materials including promotional videos, social media content, and presentations.
- Experience with 3D graphic design and animation software.
- Experience with Microsoft 365 and MS Teams.
- Graphic design knowledge and skills for digital applications.
- Strong attention to detail and a passion for creating visually appealing and accurate designs.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Experience producing and editing video content.
- Ability to work independently.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Animation, Graphic Design, Fine Arts or related field or equivalent work experience is required.
- Must have a portfolio of work samples to submit upon application.
- Must have valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new software and technologies, specifically 3D Modeling.
- Knowledge of the Architectural, Engineering, Construction (AEC) industry is a plus.
