Job Responsibilities
- Communicate and work with Production and other departments to address issues/problems with operating systems.
- Deploy and utilize maintenance employees to ensure effective and efficient operation.
- Ensure maintenance personnel are cross trained on equipment.
- Monitor and implement department work habits in compliance with good GMPs.
- Coordinate and schedule work orders and necessary maintenance personnel.
- Identify reoccurring equipment breakdowns and develop methods and modifications to prevent downtime.
- Troubleshoot plant systems as necessary.
- Monitor the preventative maintenance program to make sure equipment is serviced with its recommended time frame.
- Contact contractors to schedule repairs and installations.
- Research price and availability of new and replacement parts.
- Ensure that upgrades are performed on existing equipment.
- Install new software and/or machine codes.
- Schedule down time to repair machinery.
- Handle emergency repairs during production.
- All GLC employees are expected to perform any assignment or job task according to the stated safety policies & procedures.
- All GLC employees are expected to produce our products in a manner that exceeds the quality and value expectation of our customers and consumers by adhering to Good Manufacturing Practices, Policies and Procedures outlined in our Safe Quality Food Program.
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the manager.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and/or commensurate experience.
- Familiarity with OSHA regulations.
- 3 years of maintenance experience and/or training or more.
- Fundamental understanding of manufacturing processes.
- Broad depth of experience and knowledge of production machinery and equipment.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, troubleshoot and problem solve beyond routine issues.
- Ability to read/understand electrical/mechanical drawings.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 3 years of food manufacturing experience or more.
- Experience working with ammonia refrigeration systems / PSM.
- Ability to constantly stand/walk; bend/flex/extend neck; frequently grip/reach/lift/pull with L/R hands.
- Ability to frequently handle material from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder and pushing/pulling/carrying.
- Product weight: up to 50 lbs.
- Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with average temperature of 50-60 degrees F.
