Job Description
The Texas Correctional Office on Offenders with Medical or Mental Impairments (TCOOMMI) Licensed Clinician is responsible for providing outstanding person-centered case management services to adults diagnosed with severe and persistent mental health disorders as well as substance use disorders who are currently housed in the Williamson County Dual Diagnosis Residential Facility (DDRF).
The position reports to the TCOOMMI Program Director and requires the development and maintenance of effective, professional working relationships with the DDRF staff, BCBS staff and all outside community partners. This is a Monday through Friday, , position with no nightshift or on-call requirements.
The TCOOMMI Licensed Clinician meets with individuals who are receiving treatment at the DDRF to provide case management, skills training and psychosocial rehabilitative services in collaboration with the Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselors (LCDC) at the facility. Services are intended to stabilize mental health and substance use symptoms, reduce risk of recidivism, increase the individual’s awareness of and participation with community and natural supports, develop self-advocacy, and assist with their ability to participate in independent behavioral health services. The person in this position will work in partnership with the Residential LCDC’s to develop a treatment plan that will address the identified mental health needs as well as any substance use challenges. This position may also necessitate transportation to the BCBS clinic as well as any other transportation needs identified.
As the licensed professional (LCSW, LMFT, LPC) the job duties will also include the completion of a formal intake assessment at which time a diagnosis will be determined. This person will also work with the DDRF to provide individual and group counseling as deemed appropriate.
A high level of detailed electronic documentation is required and adherence to company and state guidelines is expected.
The person in this position must possess a passion and aptitude for working with individuals who have chronic and severe mental health needs as well as substance used needs and are involved in the criminal justice system.
Knowledge of psychotherapeutic medications, case management functions, substance use treatment, crisis services, community resources, and evidence-based practices in the behavioral health field is critical for success in the position. Effective case management employs innovative thinking, patience, resiliency, skills in advocacy, service coordination, mental health assessment and evaluation, collaborative person-centered recovery planning, clinical documentation skills, and dual-diagnosis treatment. The case manager works independently and within a team, prioritizes needs during crisis situations, engages in regular meetings and training opportunities, and performs other duties as assigned with a positive attitude.

- Up to $2.00/hour – Previous experience with a community center in a similar role
- Up to $4.00/hour – Tenure with BTCS
- $1.00/hour – Ph.D
- .75/hour – Bilingual
