Position Title: Traffic Analyst II
Location: Durham, NC
Job Summary:
The Traffic Analyst will be based at Bell and Howell’s Durham, NC HQ office, with operations throughout the U.S. and Canada, and will report directly to the Manager, Global Transport/Logistics, U.S. Customs Compliance. This position will include working with US Customs entries with our contract brokers for timely clearing and deliveries.
Job Responsibilities:
- Manages Domestic/International freight spend and activity through data gathering and analysis in all areas of transportation for the company.
- Identifies, supports, and communicates improvement opportunities with appropriate business case justifications.
- Manages internal financial departmental allocations for Transportation.
- Monitors and manages internal and external carrier compliance to ensure the company receives the best case cost for the services contracted and agreed upon by service providers.
- Works with business partners and carriers to route, coordinate, consolidate, and expedite shipments.
- Prepares and retains shipping records including International/Domestic documents and quotes.
- Prepares import/export documentation, and classifies (US Harmonized Tarrif Schedule) goods according to U.S. Customs regulations.
- Monitors import/export filing through carrier portals.
- Investigates and files loss/damage claims with carriers.
- Provides Domestic freight quotes to customers and evaluates monthly freight spend to confirm amounts recovered from the customers are at least equal to spend.
- Manages importing process as required for U.S. Customs Compliance, reporting all data to Manager, Global Transport/Logistics, U.S. Customs Compliancefor review.
- Direct liazon with U.S. Customs Brokers for imports ensuring a smooth, correct, and timely entry and final delivery.
- Maintains importing/exporting record keeping log (PEA) as approved by U.S. Customs. This includes: import review notations/corrections, duty amounts, total import values, and all related documents for 5 year retention compliance.

Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree, Supply Chain Management
- Minimum 3 Years’ experience in Domestic and International Supply Chain Logistics strongly preferred.
- Above average experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint strongly preferred.
Travel:
This position requires no travel.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to remain in a stationary position 75% of the time.
- Ability to type on a keyboard.
- Ability to hear and talk.
- Ability to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.
- Ability to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Requires close vision for computer work and reviewing correspondence.
- Work is performed in a controlled office and manufacturing environment, noise levels within acceptable safety levels, paper dust, etc.
