Student Success Coach, Alpha - $100,000/year USD
Crossover
Date: 8 hours ago
City: Round Rock, TX
Salary:
$50
per hour
Contract type: Full time
- On-site role in Houston, TX — choose from Central Houston, South Houston, or The Woodlands campus locations (relocation assistance available)
- $100,000 annual salary paid weekly. Full health, dental, and vision coverage begins day one
Alpha operates differently from conventional schools. Students complete a full day's academic work in roughly two hours using adaptive software. No classroom lectures. No physical textbooks. Your role focuses on what technology cannot replicate: guiding Pre-K through 8th grade students in life competencies such as public speaking, concentration, and peer feedback exchange. You'll spend half your day facilitating hands-on workshops using prepared playbooks and narrative techniques. The remaining time involves meeting with students individually or in small groups, analyzing their adaptive learning progress via Coachbot analytics, and motivating them to achieve 100% of weekly objectives. Mastery is demonstrated through Test2Pass assessments rather than participation-based grading.
During your first year, you'll manage a dedicated student cohort and become proficient in Alpha's methodology: life skill workshops, motivation coaching, and mastery-focused evaluation. Once you consistently ensure every student reaches 100% of goals while maintaining satisfaction ratings above 90%, advancement to Lead Guide becomes available—coaching fellow Guides while continuing direct student engagement. Top performers in this role don't merely impact individual students; they influence campus-wide operational culture.
If you've worked for years coaching, counseling, or mentoring young people while wishing you could eliminate traditional instruction and concentrate purely on developmental growth, this opportunity is designed for you.
What You Will Be Doing
- Facilitating one-hour life competency workshops for Pre-K–8 students covering public speaking, concentration, teamwork, and feedback exchange (project-based and interactive)
- Conducting daily individual and small-group motivation sessions to review student progress in adaptive learning platforms (via Coachbot analytics), establish objectives, and drive them toward 100% weekly goal completion
- Overseeing and assessing Test2Pass evaluations to verify genuine mastery of each life skill rather than simple participation
- Adjusting your coaching approach across broad age ranges, from Pre-K learners requiring high energy and physical activity to 8th graders needing direct communication and accountability
- Developing authentic connections with each student to establish trust that allows effective coaching through resistance, distraction, and uncertainty
- Delivering lectures or conventional academic instruction (core subject learning occurs through adaptive applications, not direct teaching)
- Creating original lesson plans or curriculum materials (Alpha supplies life skills playbooks; your responsibility is to execute them with enthusiasm and storytelling)
- Handling parent communications or administrative school functions (Campus Leads manage these areas; your attention remains on students)
- Evaluating homework or preparing students for standardized testing (these elements don't exist in this model)
- Operating independently (you're integrated into a campus team including Lead Guides, Campus Leads, and colleagues who provide mutual feedback and accountability)
Guarantee that every student in your assigned cohort enjoys school, achieves mastery of critical life skills, and completes 100% of their academic objectives through adaptive learning technology.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in any discipline
- 3+ years of direct experience working with Pre-K–8 students (in teaching, coaching, counseling, or youth program management)
- Demonstrated experience motivating or coaching Pre-K–8 students toward academic, behavioral, or extracurricular objectives, with at least one concrete example you can articulate (including the objective, your actions, and the result)
- Regular use of generative AI platforms (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude)
- Availability to work on-site at Alpha's Central Houston, South Houston, or The Woodlands campus (relocation assistance provided)
- Authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship
- Background in youth sports coaching, camp coordination, or after-school program management where you held direct responsibility for driving kids toward specific objectives
- History of significant personal accomplishment (academic distinctions, competitive sports, or leadership positions requiring consistent excellence)
- Innate storytelling capability: you can maintain attention from a room of 12-year-olds for an hour without voice escalation
- Success motivating unengaged or reluctant students and converting them into active contributors
