Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Record monthly adjusting journal entries.
  • Reconcile and balance general ledger accounts, including researching account discrepancies.
  • Assist in financial statement preparation by generating reports from accounting software.
  • Allocate credit card expenses across various entities and real estate properties.
  • Perform variance analysis of expenses for both residential and commercial assets.
  • Organize incoming mail and account statements; maintain both electronic and paper filing systems.
  • Assist with the preparation of supporting documentation for annual tax filings.
  • Support other accounting and finance functions and projects as needed.

Qualifications

  • 2-4 years of experience in accounting or finance REQUIRED
  • Experience in multifamily real estate is preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Highly detail-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with senior members of other departments.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accurate typing skills.
  • Experience with accounting software; familiarity with RealPage or Yardi is a plus.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Familiarity with basic accounting principles and financial reporting.
  • Ability to multitask while maintaining a positive and motivated attitude.
  • Commitment to accuracy and efficiency in all work.
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
