Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Shipping & Receiving Coordinator manages the efficient, accurate flow of goods in and out of the facility, overseeing inventory, preparing shipments (packing, labeling, documentation) and scheduling carriers. They verify incoming/outgoing orders against records, inspect for damages, and update ERP software to ensure compliance and inventory accuracy. The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator will provide daily tasks and directions to our team of forklift operators. In addition, this individual is a member of the Safety Committee, holding key responsibilities in driving safety compliance and awareness.
The Shipping & Receiving Coordinator must be able to plan and schedule daily activities to support and ensure customer deadlines are met. Upholds, enforces, and embodies Sonoco Safety and Quality Culture. The ideal candidate needs to have a background in manufacturing and a proven record of success working in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency and attention to detail. Must have the ability to work alone and as part of a team. The successful candidate for this position takes pride in his/her hands-on abilities, critical thinking skills, and attention to detail.

What You Will Be Doing
- Accurately record material counts to be shipped.
- Rectify and/or reconcile differences and inaccuracies that have to do with shipment and deliveries to customers.
- Coordinates daily shipping schedule with customer service and production personnel. Notifies appropriate personnel if outgoing shipments are delayed.
- Determines best shipping method utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates. Maintain accurate records.
- Properly labels all shipments.
- Maintains incoming and outgoing inventory records.
- Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages.
- Responsible for the accuracy of information on packing slips. Notifies appropriate personnel of incoming shipments.
- Routes received materials to respective departments to ensure proper storage.
- Perform inventory adjustments as needed.
- Performs tracking of all finished goods inventory to ensure accuracy.
- Utilize Oracle to review all raw materials and supplies.
- Interface daily with hourly and salaried employees to promote safety programs and accident prevention.
- Responsible for distributing monthly safety audits and tracking to completion.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and safety inspections of the facility.

- Meet all expected requirements, and 3+ years of Manufacturing and/or shipping department experience.
- Ability to multi-task. Must have excellent organizational skills.
- Associate degree or Higher preferred.
- To succeed in this role, you will need excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Computer skills using Microsoft office required, demonstrated proficiency with Excel, Word.
- Knowledge of Oracle forecasting, planning, production scheduling and shipping functionality and processes desired.
- Ability to navigate and complete tasks with 100% accuracy in Oracle and Shopfloor.
