Team Introduction
TikTok Platform Responsibilities Business Governance team is responsible for building safe, trustworthy, and scalable governance solutions across TikTok's global ecosystem. As AI technologies continue to reshape content creation and platform interactions, the team leverages large language models, machine learning, and platform governance capabilities to proactively identify, assess, and mitigate emerging risks while maintaining a positive user experience.
The team works closely with Product, Engineering, Algorithm, Data Science, Operations, Trust & Safety, and Policy teams to develop intelligent governance systems and scalable risk management solutions that protect platform integrity and support sustainable business growth.
Responsibilities
1. Own governance strategy and product solutions for TikTok's core business scenarios, driving risk reduction and governance effectiveness across global markets.
2. Build end-to-end risk discovery and mitigation mechanisms by leveraging data insights, user reports, operational feedback, and model-driven signals to identify emerging risks and governance gaps.
3. Define and establish governance metrics, evaluation frameworks, and monitoring systems; continuously optimize governance effectiveness through data-driven decision making.
4. Design and launch AI-powered governance solutions by incorporating Large Language Models (LLMs), machine learning capabilities, and automated risk detection systems into governance workflows.
5. Drive governance platformization by transforming governance knowledge and operational best practices into reusable products, rule engines, tooling systems, and platform capabilities.
6. Lead complex cross-functional initiatives across Product, Engineering, Algorithm, Data Science, Operations, and Policy teams to deliver scalable governance solutions.
7. Balance safety, compliance, user experience, and business objectives when designing governance strategies and product mechanisms.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
1. Proven experience in Product Management, Trust & Safety, Content Governance, Risk Control, Platform Governance, or related domains.
2. Strong understanding of the end-to-end governance lifecycle, including risk identification, problem definition, measurement, strategy development, and implementation.
3. Strong analytical thinking and data-driven decision-making skills, with experience defining KPIs and governance success metrics.
4. Excellent cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management skills.
5. Fluency in written and spoken Chinese is needed to manage stakeholders in China market
Preferred Qualifications
1. Experience applying Large Language Models (LLMs), Generative AI, Machine Learning, or recommendation systems to risk detection, content understanding, or governance scenarios.
2. Experience building governance platforms, rule engines, workflow systems, or internal tooling products.
3. Familiarity with content moderation, integrity, abuse prevention, online safety, or Trust & Safety domains.
4. Experience leading large-scale cross-functional projects in fast-paced technology environments.

【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (Annually)
The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $185600 - $396000 annually.
Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Employees have day one access to medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) savings plan with company match, paid parental leave, short-term and long-term disability coverage, life insurance, wellbeing benefits, among others. Employees also receive 10 paid holidays per year, 10 paid sick days per year and 17 days of Paid Personal Time (prorated upon hire with increasing accruals by tenure).
