The Junior Software Developer will be supporting the Steelers Technology Department in the maintenance and development of proprietary software systems. The position is for a full stack developer and will work directly with NFL and statistical data sets with our in-house Lead Developer and implement a variety of systems, tools, automation, and data flow processes.

  • This is a FT onsite position with regular office hours M-F

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Design, code, and test web applications.
  • Assist front office staff when issues occur in the applications.
  • Debug and remediate issues as they arise.
  • Maintain and develop SQL databases
  • Help develop new features and functionality as requirements changes

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field
  • Basic proficiency with backend languages such as Java or C#
  • 0-3 years’ experience with SQL and RDBMS (SQL Server, MySQL, Oracle, etc.)
  • Experience with IDEs such as Visual Studio or VS code.
  • General knowledge of web technologies and experience with JavaScript or TypeScript
  • Knowledge of version control specifically Git
  • Understanding of Object-Oriented programming and the software development lifecycle.
  • Communication skills, particularly non-technical conversations.
  • Experience with Windows environments

Preferred Skills

  • Experience using front-end frameworks and libraries such as Angular, Vue, or React
  • Knowledge of cloud computing platforms such as Azure or AWS
  • Basic Knowledge of design patterns such as dependency injection.
  • Previous experience with basic UI design and the use of CSS.
  • Strong SQL skills
  • Advanced understanding of the game of football preferred
