Human Resources Assistant

The Texas Workforce Commission is seeking three highly motivated and detail-oriented individuals to join our Human Resources team as HR Assistants. As an HR Assistant at TWC, you will be part of a dynamic and supportive team and gain valuable experience in a fast-paced and rewarding environment. The selected candidate will work in our office Monday - Friday, located at 101 E. 15th St., Austin, TX.

TWC is not considering applications from individuals who require sponsorship for an employment visa, including those with H1B visas or those currently on student or postgraduate visas. You must be a Texas resident to work for the Texas Workforce Commission or willing to relocate to Texas.

You will be on the front-line of HR requests, providing workable solutions to our customers.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:
  • Provide administrative support for a variety of HR functions.
  • Assist with onboarding new employees and ensuring a seamless transition into agency culture.
  • Answer inquiries regarding HR policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate HR records and databases, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Be a confidential and trustworthy resource, handling sensitive employee information with the utmost discretion and in compliance with privacy regulations.
  • Contribute to the ongoing improvement of HR processes and systems.
YOU WILL BE TRUSTED TO:
  • Respond promptly and professionally to employee inquiries submitted through ticketing systems or email.
  • Enter, update, and retrieve employee data in HR systems.
  • Assist with onboarding new hires, providing guidance and support to new employees during their initial weeks.
  • Be an integral part of projects that impact delivery of HR services.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
YOU QUALIFY WITH:
  • Six months experience in any of the following: human resources administrative work, technical assistance work, clerical administration and procedures, or business management practices such as preparation, maintenance, and control of forms, records, and reports.
  • Relevant academic credits may be applied toward experience qualifications for this position.
