Responsibilities
- Assist with student scheduling, ensuring students are placed in the appropriate classes based on their academic and personal needs.
- Provide student support through counseling, mediation, and other strategies aimed at improving their academic, social, and emotional well-being.
- Facilitate student mediation sessions to resolve conflicts and promote a positive school environment.
- Act as the STAT Coordinator (Student-tailored Tool for Advising and Teaching) to ensure students receive the resources they need for academic success.
- Support family mediation and engagement efforts, fostering strong partnerships between the school and families.
- Serve as the point of contact for field trips, ensuring smooth coordination and communication with families and staff.
- Assist with the school’s Student Information System, supporting data management and helping staff navigate the system.
- Lead staff professional development on Social Emotional Learning (SEL) strategies, promoting a holistic approach to education.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in counseling and education.
- Review Student Learning Profiles with teachers, families, and students to create personalized plans for student success.
- Conduct at least one parent conference with each family annually to discuss students' progress and address any concerns.
- Perform other duties as needed to meet the needs of students, families, and staff.
- Minimum - Bachelor's degree in School Counseling or related field required.
- Valid Florida School Counseling Certification.
- Experience with Social Emotional Learning (SEL) strategies and interventions is required.
- Previous experience in a school counseling or student support role preferred.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and mediation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teachers, families, and students.
- Commitment to student-centered, equity-focused support.
- Competitive salary commensurate with experience and qualifications, with a salary range of $58,000 to $65,000.
