Elementary School Teacher, Alpha - $100,000/year USD

Crossover

Date: 9 hours ago
City: Oklahoma City, OK
Salary: $50 per hour
Contract type: Full time
Students seldom recall every lesson taught to them. They never forget the adult who genuinely believed in their potential. That defines this position.

At Alpha, academic learning is completed in only two hours per day through adaptive technology. This structure allows Guides to concentrate on the work that transforms lives: cultivating confidence, resilience, communication skills, and the drive to embrace difficult challenges. Your day won't be spent delivering lessons from the front of the room. Instead, you'll coach students through obstacles, acknowledge their achievements, and demonstrate what rigorous standards look like when combined with authentic support.

You'll guide one K-3 cohort band—either Kindergarten-1st grade or 2nd-3rd grade. Half of your day involves facilitating dynamic, one-hour workshops focused on life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback. The remaining time is dedicated to coaching students individually and in small groups, leveraging learning analytics to ensure each child progresses toward ambitious weekly targets. Each interaction carries weight. Students should emerge from your workshops more skilled than when they entered and leave coaching sessions convinced they can accomplish more than they previously believed possible.

This position is not designed for someone seeking to deliver curriculum or manage a traditional classroom. It's intended for someone who excels at motivating young learners, values measurable results, and understands that the right coach can alter a child's path. If you've inspired children as a teacher, coach, camp counselor, youth leader, or performer, a distinctly different kind of classroom environment awaits you here.

This is a full-time, on-site position at one of Alpha's campuses. We conduct national recruitment, so job postings may appear in nearby cities without an Alpha campus.

Current openings at this salary level are located in Scottsdale, AZ; Oklahoma City and Tulsa, OK; Nashville, TN; Austin, Georgetown, Dallas, Plano, Fort Worth, and Houston, TX; and Park City (Salt Lake City area), UT.

If another Alpha campus interests you, submit your application regardless and indicate your preferred location—we'll evaluate you for the relevant opening.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitate dynamic life-skills workshops that enable K-3 students to develop communication, focus, feedback, and other enduring capabilities through hands-on participation rather than passive listening.
  • Provide one-on-one and small-group coaching, utilizing Coachbot analytics, established motivation frameworks, and meaningful relationships to ensure every child remains on course for ambitious weekly learning targets.
  • Evaluate life-skill proficiency using Alpha's Test2Pass framework, guiding students until they show genuine mastery—not merely attendance.
  • Adjust your coaching approach to match the developmental stage of your cohort, whether that involves songs, physical activity, and narratives for younger children or greater independence and responsibility for older students.
  • Cultivate relationships where students feel secure enough to push beyond their perceived limits.

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Presenting academic lessons from a whiteboard. Students complete academics using adaptive software.
  • Creating curriculum from the ground up. You'll refine and customize established playbooks rather than designing lessons from scratch.
  • Observing students work quietly on computers. Your function is active coaching, encouragement, and engagement.
  • Reducing expectations when students encounter difficulty. Progress comes from supporting students to meet the standard, not adjusting the standard downward.
  • Overseeing homework, grading assignments, or managing routine parent correspondence.

Elementary School Teacher Key Responsibilities

  • Minimum of 3 years of direct experience working with children ages 4-9 in teaching, coaching, tutoring, camps, youth programs, or comparable settings.
  • Demonstrated history of motivating young children to reach challenging objectives, with concrete examples of your influence.
  • Ease working with AI-powered learning systems while dedicating your energy to coaching, motivation, and life-skill instruction.
  • Capacity to combine warmth with consistent high expectations.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship.
