Position Summary: Children’s Aid Goodhue Center is seeking a Division Head to oversee the daily operations, staff management, and camper experience within an assigned division of a 7-week summer day camp program. This individual ensures a safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate environment for campers while supporting and mentoring staff to deliver high-quality programming.

Essential Duties

  • Understand and promote the organization’s Mission, Vision, and Core Values to ensure alignment with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Provide leadership, organization, and direct supervision for one camp division, including Facilitators and Supply Aides.
  • Guide and support staff in planning and implementing age-appropriate, inclusive, and engaging daily activities.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of campers and staff at all times, including active supervision during high-risk activities such as swimming.
  • Conduct regular divisional staff meetings to communicate expectations, review performance, and foster team development.
  • Collaborate consistently with the Program Director and Center Director to align divisional goals with overall camp objectives.
  • Assist in the development and execution of camp-wide programs, special events, and pre-camp staff orientation.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate and timely documentation, including monthly calendars, schedules, and reports.
  • Complete end-of-season divisional reports and conduct comprehensive performance evaluations for all staff within the camp division.
  • Address behavioral or performance concerns promptly and professionally, implementing appropriate interventions when necessary.
  • Serve as a role model by demonstrating professionalism, enthusiasm, and a commitment to positive youth development.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with children in camp, school, or youth development settings.
  • Demonstrated experience in staff supervision, leadership, and team development.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Knowledge of child development principles and behavior management strategies.
