What You’ll Accomplish

  • Assist in carrying forward a vision for curriculum units for PK-8 educators and students that reflect YES educational philosophies. Lead strands of a curriculum development project, including conceptualization, writing, and editing of parts of activities.
  • Communicate with educators, advisors and afterschool providers throughout the development process to gather user feedback that will inform content revisions and innovation.
  • Communicate with contractors/vendors such as illustrators, copy editors, and translators to bring together elements of YES units for print and digital deployment.
  • Support the team in writing/editing and delivering professional educational and evaluation resources with uniform style and appearance to maintain the YES philosophy, brand, and standards.
  • Support the team by building up in-depth knowledge of NGSS (Next Generation Science Standards), and other relevant cross-subject educational standards that inform YES curriculum work.
  • Assist the team at workshops and institutes for teachers as well as conferences and outreach events at the state and national level to disseminate and build awareness of curriculum resources.

What We’re Looking For (Competencies)

  • Knowledge of educational standards, rubrics, and pedagogical approaches that inform curriculum development.
  • Experience writing and editing STEM curriculum resources for PreK-8 educators.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate information clearly and effectively in oral and written forms.
  • Demonstrated creative and innovative approaches to product development.
  • Demonstrated ability to track and manage detail-oriented work.
  • Experience teaching in PreK-8 classrooms.

Physical Requirements

  • Valid driver's license required; ability to travel locally for classroom observations, outreach events, and meetings, with occasional national travel as needed.
  • Ability to occasionally transport, set up, and move educational materials and supplies, including lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs. and pushing/pulling up to 50 lbs.

Salary Range: $60,000 USD - $70,000 USD
