Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Controller to oversee our financial operations and partner with leadership on strategic planning. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the accounting department, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. This role requires a strong understanding of corporate accounting practices, as well as proficiency in financial software.

Key Responsibilities:

Accounting Oversight

• Oversee all aspects of accounts operations, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, general ledger and payroll ensuring timely processing and accuracy.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Manage the general ledger accounting process, including journal entries and reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate records of debits and credits, ensuring all transactions are properly documented.
• Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets.

Financial Strategy and Planning

• Conduct comprehensive financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts, collaborating with department leads to align financial goals.
• Build financial models and forecasts for planning, growth initiatives, and new office expansion.
• Develop cash flow models to guide financial decisions and capital planning.

Team Leadership and Development

• Supervise the accounting team, providing guidance and support in daily operations.
• Prepare financial statements and reports for management review.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA certification or MBA preferred.
• Proven experience in corporate accounting with a focus on budgeting and financial analysis.
• Strong knowledge of GAAP principles and standards and financial reporting best practices.
• Experience in legal, professional services, or high-growth environments strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in financial software applications.
• 5-7 years of experience
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
