Job Description Summary:

The Assistant Professor in the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Genetics at The University of Kansas Medical Center provides high-quality, evidence-based, and patient-centered care within their area of specialization. In addition, this role actively contributes to the education and training of learners, including medical students, residents, fellows, or other trainees, and participates in departmental and divisional academic activities.

Job Description:

Job Duties

  • Provide patient care in ambulatory clinic, inpatient consults and on-call services. Model best practices for diagnosis and treatment of illnesses and conditions.

  • Complete appropriate documentation of patient encounters for medical follow-up and timely billing.

  • Instruct medical students, residents and fellows in clinical and classroom settings. Coach and guide learners appropriate to their educations level. Evaluate learner's progress.

  • Contribute to various research activities of the Division of Endocrinology, Metabolism and Genetics. Research could include trials or grant funded studies.

  • Participate in Division, Department, and School faculty activities as allowed by schedule constraints.

Required Qualifications

Education: MD, DO, or foreign degree equivalent.

  • This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position. The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements, institutional standards of academic and professional excellence, alignment with peer institution benchmarks, and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.

Certifications/Licenses: Board certified/board eligible in Endocrinology.
