The Experienced Cabinet Maker is responsible for mastery-level knowledge in many areas of the production process utilizing woodwork machinery, tools, and assembly techniques. They have a high level of competency for custom work, require very little supervision, and typically lead teams, particularly in the technical aspects of the work.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Include The Following.

General Duties And Responsibilities

Ability to use time tracking computers. Clean and maintain products, machines, and work areas for cleanliness, equipment maintenance, and organization.

Read and follow production cutlists, work orders, and shop drawings. Follow all safety, hazard, and lockout procedures.

Cabinetmaking Duties And Responsibilities

Read drawings, or written specifications, and consult with drafters. Operate equipment and assemble necessary components to complete assigned project. Able to assemble items like paneling, cabinets, doors, fixtures, and high-grade furniture. May perform the responsibilities of Woodworker 1 and 2 and other duties as necessary

Ability to maintain a sense of urgency and complete assigned tasks within deadlines.

Consistent punctuality and attendance.

Ability to match materials for color, grain, texture, knots and other features; Extensive hardwood, veneer, and panel knowledge.

Education And/Or Experience

High School diploma, General Education Degree (GED), or technical school degree/certificate preferred; greater than ten (5) years related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Extensive knowledge of Woodworking and several years of working with experienced employees.

Language & Mathematical Skills

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Physical Demands

Frequent standing, walking, sitting

Frequent bending at the waist and knees, climbing, kneeling, and crouching

Frequent lifting/moving up to 50 pounds and occasionally lifting/moving up to 100 pounds

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; outdoor weather conditions; extreme cold and heat.

The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; risk of electrical shock.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to very loud.
