The Network Engineer I - OMS (Operations and Maintenance Services) will deploy and support network infrastructure at the access layer and assist with device configuration, documentation, field-based troubleshooting, and advance knowledge in data center networking.
Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Configure Layer 2 switch settings, VLANs, and port assignments.
- Support rack buildouts, patch panel mapping, and IP assignments.
- Monitor network ports, assist in MAC address tracking, and patch audits.
- Collaborate with field teams during turn-ups and cutovers.
- Advance network troubleshooting.
- Handles other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications
Physical and Mental Requirements:
- Regular attendance is mandatory
- Must be self-motivated, positive in approach, professional and lead others to create, develop and implement project process improvement(s).

- Must have proven problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills and the ability to effectively read, write and give oral presentation(s).
- Must be able to diagnose and fix problems with existing equipment and new installs.
- Must be enthusiastic, passionate, patient and a critical thinker.
- Must be able to communicate with the customer and have excellent customer service skills.
- Must be able to travel within branch territory and/or regional territory as needed.
- Basic Hand Tools: screwdriver - all sizes (regular and Phillips,), drywall saw, torpedo level, tape measure, snips (with belt sheath), pliers (adjustable, needle nose, lineman), hammer, cable stripper, flashlight and gloves. Multimeter, butt-set, toner/wand.
- Must have at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
- Must be able to work well with other people
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).
- Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
- Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
- 2-4+ years of hands-on networking or IT infrastructure experience.
- Familiarity with CLI tools, structured documentation, and cabling maps.
- Experience configuring switches from vendors like Cisco or Arista.
- CCNA or CompTIA Network+ or equivalent; fiber certs a plus.
