About The Role
As a Software Engineering Manager, you will lead a full-stack engineering team which designs and implements scalable systems that power our independent drivers, shippers, sales, and operations teams to transport freight across the world. Your team’s solutions will need to be adaptable to the ever-changing freight environment and have high uptime to support our business and customer needs.
What the Candidate Will Do
- Lead all aspects of design development for multiple teams that incorporate current short- and long-term needs
- Build new technical solutions that will handle the future expected scale and create a technical roadmap for new product features that will shape the experience for our earners
- Direct efforts within the organization to understand requirements, consolidate them, translate them into strategically important business needs, and deliver extensible designs
- You will be developing scalable micro-services and partner with Product Managers & Data Scientists to deliver solutions
- Define standards in testing, monitoring, and alerting systems and lead the efforts of the organization to execute against them Identify and advocate for strategic investments in extensible solutions within organization and create extensible solutions that are capable of reuse or integration to avoid redundant development
- Serve as a resource for the team to connect them with broader engineering directions and initiatives
- Scale up initiatives quickly, by assigning appropriate resources to various tasks and sub-tasks, and facilitating rapid movement towards the end-goal
- Set the standard for the engineering team and shape the culture within the organization
- Manage and mentor a team of software engineers, looking out for their career progression and skills development
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field
- 6+ years of technical experience
- 1-2 years of people management experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with C#, Go, Java, Python, or similar experience as a technical leader and manager
- Experience with React, ASP.NET, or similar experience as a technical leader and manager
- Experience within the freight or logistics industry a plus
