POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting the SVP Risk Management to ensure compliance within the Credit Union as well as with all state and federal regulations. Stays abreast of all Credit Union policies and procedures. Ensures compliance with applicable financial laws and regulations. Analyzes and report data as required. The primary job function is to identify weaknesses in the organization's work processes and implement methods to minimize risks.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
Two years minimum developing technical controls in a financial services environment. A background in internal auditing and process improvement will be beneficial. Strong analytical abilities, basic technical skills, and effective communication skills. Excellent communication, manners, and techniques.
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associate Degree or equivalent.

Duties And Responsibilities

- Oversee the process for incident reports, maintaining records for work processes and providing technical guidance to personnel
- Assesses risk potential of current procedures and assists with instituting new procedures that minimize loss exposure. Ensures that any change in policy or procedure is communicated to impacted departments, or the credit union as a whole, with clarity. Follows up to ensure new procedures are understood and implemented
- Maintain programs for granting access to buildings and areas within the facilities
- Responsible for monitoring alarms and video surveillance
- Maintain email security standards and assist in access and investigations of email
- Responsible for reviewing items like change requests and project plans and providing recommendations on improvements
- Create plans for streamlining work processes and oversee the testing and implementation of them.
- Collaborate with key internal and external stakeholders, such as quality assurance, regulators, and outside auditors. Must be well-versed on organizational policies, as well as applicable industry regulations, to identify activities outside of acceptable business practices.
- Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective communication and coordination with Credit Union personnel and management. To include; completing reports, records, and documents accurately and promptly; keeping management informed of area activities and any significant problems or concerns; assist in identifying training opportunities to improve personnel understanding of control procedures; attending meetings as required.
- Coordinate with cybersecurity vendors regarding quote purchase and renewal, and review maintenance contracts.
- Analyze information and perform IT compliance testing and software compliance dispute resolution.
- Coordinate risk registry program, issue quarterly status reports.
- Maintain IT compliance test programs and developed IT compliance testing work papers.
- Troubleshoot information security incidents and educate staff on information security.
- Coordinate IT activities during regulatory exams
- Disseminates information, reviews disclosures, answers questions, and be a subject matter expert for the credit union on compliance-related issues.
- Assists in the development of the compliance training program.
- Assists with or performs special investigations or audits as assigned. Stays informed of trends and developments in the compliance field. Continues professional development through various training opportunities.
- Assists in legal investigations, both internally and externally. Works with law enforcement, APS, and other government agencies, files appropriate documentation, opens cases, and ensures resolution.
- Oversee training on audit findings and repeat findings.
- Follow up on talks with other departments within the credit union to ensure compliance.
- Complies with all state and federal regulations related to this job and the Credit Union.
- Interact with coworkers and members in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Maintains the Credit Union's professional reputation, both internally and externally. Maintains and ensures the highest degree of confidentiality. Resolves requests, complaints, or problems promptly.
- Secure and safeguard at all times the confidential information of members, employees, and the Credit Union pertaining to accounts, security, and personal information.
- Responsible for knowing and adhering to USCU policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook and training manuals.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor, management, or Human Resources.
