Bakery Manager

The Community Day Services (CDS) provides a variety of programs to enhance each individual’s adaptive living skills, economic self-sufficiency, overall level of independence and integration into the community. The CDS is seeking a Bakery Manager responsible for the implementation of the daily operations of the St. Coletta's of Illinois bakery. These operations include preparation and production of food items sold in the bakery. The Bakery Manager supervises bakery workers that are assigned to him/her.

Schedule: Monday - Friday 1st shift

Pay Rate: $50,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Oversees the preparation and cooking of bakery items, ensuring prescribed recipes and proper safety/sanitation procedures are followed.
• Conducts task analysis that arranges all tasks into sequential, teachable components.
• Determines appropriate quantities of food items for baking; as needed for daily and/or preordered sales.
• Plans and documents daily production schedules.
• Trains workers in bakery methods and procedures including the proper operation of equipment. Provides directives to workers as needed.
• Prepares work schedule for workers, tracks all workers hours, assists workers complete their timecards, submit timecards for payroll as required.
• Monitors an individual’s work related skills and behaviors and develops interventions when performance expectations are not being met.
• Monitors temperatures of food to assure safety and quality standards are met; monitors water temperatures to assure proper temperature for sanitizing.
• Inspects work performed to ensure conformance to contract specifications and established public health standards. Supervises the storing of unused food and supplies; disposes of unusable leftovers; utilizes proper methods of handling foods to be stored.
• Assists in recording amounts of food sold and monies collected, assists with inventory and maintains routine records as directed; prepares records of foods cooked and foods left over.
• Prepares and bakes foods for special events as needed; assists with special events as required.

Qualifications

• Three years management experience in a commercial kitchen or bakery or equivalent preferred.
• Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent preferred.
• Must possess and maintain a valid Illinois food sanitation license, or have ability to obtain license within three months of hire.
• Must possess valid Illinois or Indiana driver’s license.
• Pass a physical and drug test.
• Pass a MVR and criminal background check.
