The Opportunity:
Do you want to develop training that will transform Naval Forces and their ability to meet global crises and contingency challenges? As an instructional design leader, you know that even the best tools and processes can’t have an impact without the right education. Constructing an interactive course that teaches critical skills and integrates emergent capabilities and tactics requires a real passion for understanding the needs of your customer. We have an opportunity for an instructional designer who is committed to solving some of the toughest challenges by crafting effective training.
On our team, you’ll work with senior leaders, instructors, and assessors to capture training needs and advise them on the right learning solution to help them accomplish their mission.
You’ll use your technical skills, creativity, and experience to supervise, organize, and serve as an advisor for workshops consisting of functional experts to determine critical tasks and instructional settings. You'll review existing courses to see if courses need to be modified, supplemented, or replaced, and come up with new ideas to develop an engaging, interactive learning experience on screen, in the field, or in a classroom. To ensure your solution is hitting the mark, you’ll collect and analyze results using evaluation methodologies such as the Kirkpatrick Model, then fine-tune your training for maximum impact. You’ll be able to hone your leadership skills as you share your expertise through leadership and mentoring. As a leader, you’ll identify new opportunities to build solutions to your customers’ learning needs. This is a chance to use your deep understanding of training methodologies to shape a creative learning experience that will engage students.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual’s particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $69,400.00 to $158,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees. You Have:
- Experience with developing and refining Programs of Instructions as required in accordance with MCO 1553.2B and MCO 3502.2A
- Experience with the development of courses, including experimental programs to provide conceptual and procedural guidance in the specialty areas of curriculum development, instructional systems, and course material development
- Experience in providing instructional design writer training for technical writing and input to assessment and evaluation criteria
- Knowledge of MEU and Amphibious Ready Group (ARG) training and operations
- Knowledge of a wide variety of complex instructional technologies and methodologies, including Interactive Courseware and Video Tele Training, sufficient to design and develop instructional programs that utilize complex technological applications
- Ability to adapt presentations in the standard communications curriculum to the needs of students· based on their educational background and experience levels, compared to the technical difficulty of the subject matter
- Ability to plan and conduct in-house training sessions for staff members to ensure understanding of education objectives, teaching strategies, methods of critiquing, and applicable student counseling and guidance procedures
- Secret clearance
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with developing training materials for MEU and ARG-related events
- Experience with Marine Corps and Naval concepts for MEU and ARG employment
- Experience with Curriculum development
- Knowledge of live force training and evaluation
- Master's degree in Education
- Master Instructor Certification from an accredited DoD educational institution, including TECOM or MCTOG
